Metal Shark’s 75 Endurance is a welded aluminum pilothouse catamaran ideally suited for fire rescue, command and control, and other emergency response missions where offshore capability, extended range and duration, and large crew capacity may be key considerations. Like all Metal Sharks, each 75 Endurance Fire Rescue vessel may be fully customized to meet virtually any mission requirement.

Hull Design & Construction

Each Metal Shark Endurance-class catamaran features a proven Metal Shark hull design that has been engineered and built to precise tolerances. To achieve its superior hull life rating, the vessel’s hull, deck, and superstructure are composed entirely of heavy, welded plates of premium 5086 aluminum-magnesium alloy. A key component of the Endurance-class vessels are their wide beams, which offer tremendous stability while underway or at rest. To meet specific mission requirements, the 75 Endurance may be equipped with inboards, water jets, or pod propulsion systems.

Deck Layout

At the heart of the 75 Endurance’s crew-friendly design is its spacious, clutter-free deck arrangement that offers massive, wide-open work spaces and allows for easy crew movement from bow to stern. Wide, non-skid walkways feature low-level LED lighting for night missions, and careful consideration has been given to the placement of all rails and grab handles. Port and starboard dive recesses and a full-width transom platform provide easy access to and from the water. Heavy duty rub rail provides impact protection, and the vessel may be equipped with a urethane-sheathed closed-cell foam collar for additional fendering capability.

Pilothouse

The 75 Endurance’s most immediately apparent innovation is its use of Metal Shark’s signature “pillarless glass” pilothouse. This design significantly enhances the view from the helm by reducing the dangerous blind spots commonly found on conventional pilothouse vessels. Pillarless glass technology, proven extensively on Metal Shark’s military and law enforcement patrol boats, increases visibility and awareness. Firefighters and other emergency responders appreciate the near 360-degree view from a Metal Shark pilothouse, especially while operating during night missions or other periods of reduced visibility. The cabin space is custom configurable to suit any mission profile, with multiple options for crew seating and accommodations areas, workstations, etc.

Helm

The 75 Endurance features massive wraparound dash areas that easily accommodate all vessel controls and instrumentation as well as controls for the full range of fire fighting equipment, keeping all controls within easy reach for intuitive operation of the vessel and all onboard systems. The elevated helm affords an outstanding view, facilitating navigation and maneuvering in close quarters or during multi-vessel fire fighting operations.

Crew Accommodations

Belowdecks, the 75 Endurance’s twin hulls provide berthing for a crew of up to twelve, depending on layout, with an enclosed head and hanging lockers. Sleeping accommodations are separated from the pilothouse, allowing off-watch crew to rest without disturbing operations. There is ample room in the pilothouse or aft deck house for a full galley, dinette, head, and other accommodations.

Custom Capability

The 75 Endurance may be fully customized to suit a wide range of mission requirements. From fire pumps and monitors to foam reservoirs, hydrant connections, Command and Control communications systems, and positive-pressure Chemical, Radiological, Biological, Nuclear, and high-yield Explosive (CBRNE) crew protection systems, Metal Shark is adept at the seamless integration of tactical firefighting hardware.
